WNET’s Celebration of Teaching and Learning

Thousands of educators from the Greater New York region attended WNET’s Celebration of Teaching and Learning last week.

The Verizon Foundation’s Thinkfinity.org team joined the event and hosted a series of sessions to share information about the free resources for teachers on Thinkfinity.org and the new Thinkfinity Community.

On Saturday, Stan Silverman, professor at the New York Institute of Technology’s School of Education, lead a panel discussion highlighting how Thinkfinity.org resources can be used to support teaching and learning in the 21st century.

“WNET’s Celebration of Teaching and Learning is a tremendous opportunity for teachers to share ideas and learn about new technologies and tools available to help them engage students in the classroom,” said Al Browne, Verizon Foundation vice president of education and technology. “But the learning does not have to stop when the conference ends, through the Thinkfinity Community, educators throughout the country can continue to share, connect and collaborate online, every day.”

More than 1,000 teachers stopped by the Thinkfinity.org booth at the event to learn about the resources and training available. Thinkfinity.org provides thousands of free educational resources to teachers, parents and students to use in and out of the classroom. All for free.

Every resource on Thinkfinity.org is created or approved by one of 11 of the nation’s leading educational organizations, including the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
